TikToker is the originator of the trend, starting in mid-2023. Overall, the video trend is similar to and likely inspired by Corecore and Pinkcore videos as well as so-called "feet and toes" edits. The trend started with The Sopranos edits centered on the phrase "fiber optic cable." The trend also became associated with a series of Sam Sulek edits.
